Our Facility

Our Rooms

Murray Haven Homes currently has vacancies in both high care and residential care rooms.  We are a 55 bed facility with an extremely caring and dedicated team.  Murray Haven is fully accredited.  There are weekly visits to the facility by the local doctor and other medical services are offered.    Please contact the admissions officer, Deb Telford, on 03 5453 2080 for information.

Murray Haven Homes has recently completed a 20 bed extension to complement the existing 35 bed facility.  There are now 55 beds in total, including 13 high care rooms.   All of our rooms at Murray Haven are single rooms with private ensuite bathrooms.  They are well proportioned and orientated to receive plenty of natural light with beautiful outlooks of the internal courtyards or surrounding well maintained gardens.  Rooms come furnished an electric bed, wardrobe, space for a television, small fridge and recliner chair.

Common Areas

Murray Haven Homes offers an array of different common areas (Totalling 320 sq. metres in size) to enrich the daily lives of our residents. These areas provide an opportunity for our residents to relax with family and friends, with designated areas for stimulation and activity.

Our common areas are light and spacious, air conditioned with comfortable furniture, fixtures and fittings. Carpet and curtains add warmth to the rooms. Activities and recreational areas are furnished to suit the use of the rooms and present a homelike feel.

The Happy Haven Art Gallery is a purpose-built area where art classes are facilitated by our internal lifestyle coordinator and regular guest artists.  We are very proud of our talented residents, displaying their work in the Gallery and around the facility.

Garden and Outside Areas

Set on over 3.5 acres of landscaped garden, Murray Haven Homes provides opportunity for residents to engage with the outside surroundings, or watch the seasons change from one of the many expansive windows.

Residents are welcome to sit in one of three outdoor courtyards or assist our gardener to tend the residents’ vegetable patch and other courtyard areas.    The high-care unit has its own courtyard complete with resident budgies and fish.

Murray Haven also has a bus and, as part of regular activities takes residents on short trips so that they can keep up with the local happenings.     The bus is also available for families to use for appointments and family gatherings.

Smoke-Free Facility

In the interest of our residents, visitors and employees, Murray Haven Homes supports a smoke-free environment philosophy. Smoking is not permitted inside the building or on the external grounds of our facility, including internal rooms, communal areas, offices, patios, verandahs and outdoor areas.

A cessation program or nicotine replacement therapy (patch replacement or equivalent) is available upon request to new residents (resident’s cost).
